Amazing food, great service and ambience! Don't usually find good korean food options for vegetarians in US, but every dish we ordered here was so tasty with perfect balance of flavors! They also have pics for every item in the online menu, making it easier to select. Service was quick, staff was friendly and helpful, clarifying doubts in the dishes, continuously refilling water, clearing empty dishes without even being asked. Would love to visit again in my next trip to NYC!

Incredible dining experience! Staff, service and food are solid all around. This is a vegetarian restaurant. Make reservations in advance if possible because it was packed on a Monday night. If you’re hungry, make sure to order more. Our table of 3 ordered a salad, fried dumplings and ice cream to share, and I ordered the stone tofu bibimbap bowl for myself.

The whole experience was amazing. From the ambiance to the service to the food, it was smooth, and more importantly, delicious. The staff were super nice and welcoming. The restaurant was very authentic, and we had to take off our shoes to eat. Thankfully, they included cutouts beneath the table so that we didn't have to keep our legs folded throughout the meal. The dim lighting and authentic art made it a very immersive experience. I ordered the spicy baby dumplings, which came out very quickly. They were well made, and the sauce added a nice kick to the food. However, they weren't very spicy, so maybe ask for their hot sauce if you like a bit of heat. We also ordered the avocado stone bowl and kimchi stone bowl. Both came out in good time, and the server graciously mixed the miso and spicy sauce into both bowls for us. One thing about the bowls: They do NOT cool down. I burned my tongue several times, even after the bowl had 20+ minutes to cool down. The food was amazing, and the avocado bowl was one of the best dishes I've ever had. They also gave us complimentary kimchi (spicy and mild) that went well with our food.

This is a traditional and authentic fully vegan plant based and JAIN option available (no onions,no garlic,no scallions)restaurant in New York. featuring a unique ambiance that includes the tradition of removing your shoes before dining along with traditional seating options on the floor, ample legroom beneath the table, so you don’t have to fold your legs all the time. I would rate it a solid 9/10. The only reason I’m not giving it a full 10 is that the prices can be a bit high compared to the portion sizes. However, the taste is absolutely amazing, making it worth a visit. As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to find a fully plant-based vegan restaurant—a rarity! I felt completely at ease knowing I could try anything on the menu. They accommodated our dietary preferences by making everything without mushrooms. We ordered the cauliflower bites and organic zen noodles, both of which were delicious. I highly recommend the kale dumplings wrapped in tofu skin, the wheat-free kale pancakes, the spicy grilled tofu, the spicy tofu kimchi hotpot, and the spicy kimchi stone bowl rice (bibimbap). Gluten-free options are also available! We also tried their beverages, including the iced matcha latte and hot and cold shisandra, and I recommend the iced shisandra—it tasted fantastic. They also provide disposable slippers for the washrooms. Overall, Hangawi is a fantastic restaurant, and I highly recommend everyone try it for an authentic experience of Korean cuisine in a @plant-based format.

Our group of four wanted to try everything so we ordered 2 set courses, a handful of appetizers, and 2 additional mains and boy, were we stuffed. The vegetarian meal was so hearty and flavourful. The seating was super cozy. I was worried about sitting in a dress but your legs can hang below the table.

My Tastebuds Were Tricked (in the Best Way Possible)! Prepare yourselves, fellow food adventurers, for a tale of delicious deception! I recently stumbled into a restaurant, blissfully unaware that I was about to embark on a culinary journey that would leave me both mystified and magnificently full. The food? Let's just say it was so good, I didn't realize it was vegan until someone whispered it to me, probably out of pity for my naive delight. My brain is still trying to process how something so utterly scrumptious could be made without, you know, all the usual suspects. Rest assured, you will waddle out of there feeling like you've won the lottery of flavor, with a belly full of joy. Service So Good, I Almost Asked for a Pillow The service at this establishment isn't just "amazing," it's practically a spiritual experience. The staff moved with such grace and efficiency, they could probably teach a masterclass in chill. They somehow managed to create an atmosphere so relaxing, I half-expected to see people meditating between courses. And speaking of unique experiences, I had my first-ever "floor" seating experience, which, surprisingly, added to the whole zen vibe. It was like a very comfortable, very delicious picnic indoors. Plus, their Sunday mini prix fixe menu is an absolute genius move – all the deliciousness without the commitment issues. My Eyes and Stomach Are Still Best Friends The decor here is less "restaurant" and more "serenity now." Every detail contributes to a genuinely relaxing atmosphere that complements the food perfectly. It's the kind of place where you can truly unwind, forget your troubles, and just focus on the important things in life, like how you're going to fit more of that delicious food into your already happy stomach. My eyes loved the aesthetic, and my stomach loved everything else.

Amazing food and a large menu! The service was polite, courteous, and the servers explained every dish in the prix-fixe that we ordered. The lychee ice tea was amazing, and every dish in the set menu was great! I loved the dessert of vegan ice cream and cakes, and the dumplings are a must have! The creamy tofu vegan cold soup was delicious too.
